Ivy + Bill

You know when someone is just so completely in their element that seeing their pure joy makes you uncontrollably happy in return? Well for Ivy, that place is the beach. When she is there, she is home. The sea truly sets her free.

I love witnessing this because you can quite literally feel the difference. We are welcomed into this special place where posing doesn't matter because there is so much beauty in the bliss. A place where expectations dissipate because we are in their home. Where no amount of makeup or fancy clothes are needed to show their elegance.

The same can be said for Bill on a golf course! With that combination, there was no better place to celebrate the love of Ivy and Bill than the Outer Banks. They rented a mansion directly on the water to celebrate all week long with a handful of their closest friends and family. It was a celebration every night whether it involved fishing on the beach, outdoor movie nights, or losing a bet and jumping into the pool fully clothed (I’m actually pretty sure that happened every night).

I was there when Bill was finishing his vows, and it was truly heartwarming to see him trying to best express his love for Ivy in only a few words. He wanted more than anything to make it perfect, and he absolutely did. The thing is, Bill never wanted to get married. I know this firsthand as I would constantly badger him for a couple years to put a ring on Ivy’s finger because she is someone you’d want to hold onto. When he finally did, it was partly surprising because he was truly adamant about not getting married, but not surprising at all that Ivy is the one he bent the rules for.

I couldn’t have said it better than Catherine did, “Friends like Ivy are a rarity.” It’s true, they don’t make them like her anymore… except for her incredible sister, Amy, but that’s a whole different blog post.

Ivy and Bill are true genuine people. They will do anything they can to help you out. They are incredibly laid back and persistent at the same time and are extremely good at thinking on their feet (like they did when Bill forgot his wedding attire back in Connecticut --oops!). Ivy and Bill always put others before themselves and have truly built a life that is incredibly admirable. At the end of the day, these are the kind of people you want to surround yourself with. They are the kind of people that will make you a better person yourself.

I couldn’t be more excited to share with you: Ivy and Bill.
